Police: 1 injured in 26th St. shooting in NN

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – One person has been injured in a shooting in Newport News Wednesday afternoon, police said. Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1200 block of 26th Street between Chestnut Avenue and Oak Avenue in the Chestnut area of the city at 4:50 p.m. and found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound believed to be non-life-threatening. The man was taken to a local hospital.
