NPD: Stolen vehicle pursuit causes 2 crashes

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The driver of stolen car led Norfolk police on a chase that resulted in two separate crashes Tuesday afternoon.

Around 2:20 p.m., officers tried to pull over a stolen vehicle near Church Street and Johnson Avenue, but the driver did not stop.

Officers pursued the stolen car until it crashed near East 26th Street and Monticello Avenue. Police said they were able to detain a juvenile after a foot pursuit. A person involved in the crash had minor injuries.

Another police vehicle was also involved in an accident at the intersection of E. 26 th Street and Church Street while pursuing the same stolen car. No injuries were reported in this crash.
