Don Scott shares his journey from prison to speaker of the House

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Thirty years ago, Don Scott sat in a federal prison cell serving time. Today, he’s now the first Black speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates. “It’s very humbling. I’m very grateful. I feel the energy from the folks who came before me, who never got this opportunity,” said Scott, a Democrat who represents House District 88.
