NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – The Newport News Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday night.
According to officials, officers were notified of the incident through a ShotSpotter activation in the 800 block of 35th Street on Feb. 8 at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Officers arrived to the scene and found an adult male suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transferred to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.
No suspect information has been released as the investigation remains open.
