Newport News woman’s yorkie stolen from front yard

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A Newport News woman is seeking the public’s help after her 3-year-old Yorkie was stolen from her sister’s front yard near Moyer Road Aug. 9.

Kathy Hunter was visiting her sister when her small dog, Callie, was taken. Ring camera footage shows a red vehicle pulling up to the lawn and snatching the dog, who weighs less than five pounds.

Hunter filed a police report, but authorities say they have exhausted all leads in the search for Callie. Now, she is turning to the community for help, hoping someone might come forward with information.

Hunter says they have put out flyers, posted on Facebook and shared on the Nextdoor app, all in hopes of bringing Callie Home.

Hunter is offering a $2,400 reward for any information leading to Callie’s safe return.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Kathy Hunter through PawBoost Alert.
