NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Get your taste buds ready, a culinary adventure awaits!
This Saturday, The Great Food Truck festival is returning to Newport News for its seventh year.
In less than 24 hours, more than 3,000 people are expected to fill the grounds of the festival site at Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport’s cell lot, at 900 Bland Blvd., for a taste of delicious treats and family fun.
It’s a celebration of local and international cuisine with 25 venders competing from across the states of Virginia and North Carolina as they showcase their very best dishes. Guest judges will be sampling an item from each participating food truck at 3 p.m. to determine who will win the ‘Best of 2024 Food Tasting’ Competition.
Festival organizer Shannon Combs said those who come out will definitely get a bang for their buck.
“We make it a simple process by offering our festival sampler menu,” Combs said. “So without breaking the bank, you can sample an item from each vendor for $3. So it allows people to be able to experience every single vendor that we have out there.”
