Suffolk Fire & Rescue responds to house fire on S. Quay Rd.

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to a house fire early Thursday morning.

According to officials, crews were dispatched to the 6700 block of South Quay Road just before 6:20 a.m. for reports of a residential fire.

Crews arrived to the scene and found smoke and fire coming from the crawl space area of a two-story home. The fire was contained to the crawl space, but smoke damage was present throughout the structure.

The fire was considered under control by 7:03 a.m.

Three adults were displaced as a result of the fire and the cause was determined to be accidental.
