Crews battle 2-alarm house fire in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — The Newport News Fire Department responded to a 2-alarm house fire on the 800 block Cascade Drive.

According to officials, the home was heavily by the fire damage but no one was hurt.

Viewer video shows multiple fire engines on the scene, and pictures show flames raging from the roof with large plumes of black smoke pouring from the windows.

Crews were still on the scene early Sunday morning hitting hot spots.

The fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
