Wawa is set to open its new store in Suffolk, on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 1510 Holland Road. The grand opening celebration will begin at 7:45 a.m. with a countdown to the store’s official opening at 8:00 a.m.
To mark the occasion, the first 100 customers will receive free “In My Wawa Era 60th Anniversary” t-shirts, and all customers will be treated to free coffee of any size throughout the day. Wawa General Manager Stephanie Vercher will lead the countdown and officially open the doors to the new store.
At 8:30 a.m., a special ceremony will take place, showcasing Wawa’s commitment to its “Fulfilling Lives” mission, which will include comments from Wawa Director of Store Operations Kim Dowgielewicz and Area Manager Alex Mwale,
Another highlight will be the ‘Hoagies for Heroes’ hoagie-building competition, pitting teams from the Suffolk Police Department and Suffolk Fire & Rescue against each other. Wawa’s mascot, Wally Goose, will also be on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The new store opening is part of Wawa’s 60th-anniversary celebrations and represents its ongoing expansion efforts**. The company aims to create a welcoming “family-like” atmosphere in its stores, emphasizing the importance of simple gestures like holding the door for others.
