Duman maintains lead in Suffolk mayoral race after ballot counting

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Suffolk’s registrar’s office has officially finished adding the provisional ballots, early voting ballots and mail in ballots for the city’s mayoral race.

Winner of Suffolk’s mayoral race might not be known until next week

With over 52,000 total votes counted, Mayor Michael Duman maintains his lead over Clinton Jenkins and David Bossleman.

Duman is currently 161 votes ahead of Jenkins, which is within the margin of recount.

During their campaigns, Duman focused on his experience, and political newcomer Bosselman focused on issues surrounding the city’s growth . Jenkins focused on tying himself to the Democratic party.
