Chesapeake house fire displaces two adults, damage contained to garage

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Two adults are displaced following a house fire in Chesapeake on Wednesday afternoon, according to officials.

At approximately 5:05 p.m., Chesapeake firefighters were dispatched to the 900 block of Deep Branch Way in reference to a report of a fire in a garage.

Upon arrival three minutes later, crews found smoke and fire coming from the garage. Crews then deployed multiple hoselines and contained the fire to the garage.

The fire was marked out at around 5:20 p.m. The home sustained damage from the smoke.

The residents evacuated the home before firefighters arrived. Red Cross is assisting the family with lodging arrangements.

There were no injuries reported.
