McCabe claims Big 12 Indoor Championship title in 3,000 Meters

Graduate student Ceili McCabe of the West Virginia University track and field team took first place in the women’s 3,000-meter finals on Saturday night at the Big 12 Indoor Championships inside of the Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, Texas.

McCabe claimed the title after posting a time of 9:07.56, after aiding in WVU’s distance medley relay conference championship Friday night. This marks McCabe’s eighth Big 12 track and field title.

Additionally in the 3,000 meters, freshman Joy Naukot earned her second silver medal of the weekend, after finishing with a time of 9:08.65. While freshman Naomi Kemboi added a personal best time of 9:09.03, taking fourth place…
