Man with known warrants sent to the hospital after vehicle crash in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – A man with known warrants was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after trying to evade officers during a routine traffic stop May 3, according to the Newport News Police Department.

Henry William Ogletree, Jr., 46, ran two red lights before crashing into another vehicle and hitting a pole near the intersection of Tabb Lane and Warwick Boulevard, police say.

The driver in the second vehicle, a 28-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Ogletree, who had outstanding warrants for arson, strangulation, and simple assault from a prior offense, is currently in stable conditions, according to police…
