The 20th annual Paddle for the Border on Saturday featured a group of Boy Scouts making a 7.5-mile trek up the Dismal Swamp Canal in two 14-person canoes.
The 11 Scouts of Troop 162 and their six adult Scout leaders were among nearly 400 people who paddled their way from the Dismal Swamp Canal State Park to the Virginia border, using kayaks, canoes and even paddle boards.
