VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The Virginia Beach School Board may be gearing up to reconsider its vote on the school division’s diversity, equity and inclusion programs yet again due to a provision in state law.
A motion to amend its May 6 vote has been placed on the proposed agenda for the May 13 meeting.
The wrestling match over diversity, equity and inclusion programs in Virginia Beach schools goes back to April 8, when the school board passed a resolution to suspend DEI initiatives in response to executive orders from President Donald Trump.
