Tuskegee Airmen exhibit lands in Smithfield and Suffolk with immersive films

SUFFOLK, Va. — A moving tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen and Women Airforce Service Pilots is making its way to Hampton Roads, offering a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience that brings the powerful stories of WWII’s pioneering Black aviators to life.

Sponsored by the Schoolhouse Museum in honor of former Tuskegee Airman William R. White of Smithfield, the Rise Above Traveling Exhibit is an immersive mobile experience and will be on display in Smithfield on June 10 and 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Schoolhouse Museum located at 516 Main Street.

Then the exhibit will head to Suffolk for two days at East End Baptist Church, 1056 Portsmouth Boulevard, on June 13 and 14, also from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day…
