Why are flags at half-staff in Virginia on Saturday?

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Governor Glenn Youngkin has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff on all state and local buildings and grounds across the Commonwealth of Virginia in memory of the 12 victims who lost their lives in the 2019 Virginia Beach Municipal Center shooting.

The order honors the victims of the mass shooting and is meant as a sign of respect and remembrance.

Flags are to remain at half-staff until sunset…
