Portsmouth shootings spark call for change during gun violence awareness week

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Two separate shootings over the weekend have left Portsmouth community leaders urging for change as the city marks National Gun Violence Awareness Week.

One of the shootings happened late Saturday night at a graduation party on Viking Street, near the Cavalier Manor Recreation Center. According to Portsmouth Police, four people were shot, including two minors.
