ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – The man arrested and charged in 2023 for the death of 18-year-old Aonesty Selby pleaded guilty to second-degree murder Wednesday, according to the Isle of Wight Circuit Clerk’s Office.

Andarius McClelland, who was 21 at the time of the incident, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and the use or display of a firearm in committing a felony on Jan. 17, 2023.

Selby was found dead Jan. 13, 2023, on a remote logging path in the 13000 block of Blue Ridge Trail as a result of a single gunshot wound. Her family had not heard from her since Jan. 11 and became concerned, as there had not been any cellphone activity from Selby.
Investigation revealed that on Jan. 11, Selby took an Uber to meet McClelland at his apartment in Newport News, located in the 12000 block of Jefferson Avenue.
