Prayer vigil held for 19-year-old severely injured while skimboarding on Outer Banks

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A North Carolina family is shattered after a skimboarding accident on the Outer Banks left their son with extensive injuries, with 19-year-old Colin Tibbs now in for the fight of his life.

Three prayer vigils have been held this week for Tibbs, one of them held on Thursday outside of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he is recovering.

Tibbs’ family describes him as a collegiate athlete with an unwavering faith.
