NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — For many, lemonade is a refreshing drink to enjoy on a hot summer day, and for others, it offers a trip down memory lane to their childhood. But for one 11-year-old cancer survivor, it’s a symbol to inspire hundreds in the fight against childhood cancer.
Jackie Meeks was just 10-years-old when she was diagnosed with Stage 3 anaplastic large cell lymphoma. After a hard-fought battle and six rounds of chemotherapy, she rang the bell last November, officially cancer-free.
Now, she’s leading the charge in an effort to help others by raising money for cancer treatments as an Anthem LemonAid ambassador…
