A woman is dead and a man has been charged with murder following an early-morning domestic dispute in Vermilion.
Vermilion police officers were called to 525 Ferndale Ave at 1:46 a.m. Thursday. Police said as they arrived at the address, a man fired a handgun, striking a woman twice. Ashlee McPeak, 34, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, was pronounced dead at the scene.
