First-ever Monster Truck drawing features over 70 Virginia artists

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – The Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art’s is hosting their first-ever Monster Drawing Rally Friday, Aug. 15, 6-10 p.m. The event intends to combine the spectacle and energy of a monster truck rally with the creativity of the local artist community.

“I’m proud to help lead this high-energy, intergenerational event with our Advisory Council of young leaders across Hampton Roads,” says Sharon Manana, Generation MOCA Chair. “This inaugural celebration brings together creativity and community in an unforgettable way—and it’s a powerful show of support for both local artists and Virginia MOCA.”

The rally will feature a live DJ, a cash bar, access to the Virginia MOCA galleries and food from three local vendors…
