NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A 21-year-old man has died after a vehicle crash in Newport News overnight.
According to officials, just before midnight on Sunday, Virginia State Police were dispatched to the eastbound lanes of I-64, just west of Oyster Point Road, for reports of a single-vehicle crash involving an excavator.
A preliminary investigation of the scene found that the 21-year-old driver of a 2010 Chrysler Sebring, later identified as Rishard Bernard Brummell Harvey, was traveling east when he, for unknown reasons at this time, ran off the roadway.
