2 arrested after K9 alerts to narcotics

Two men are facing charges in Currituck County after a police K9 alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics.

Terry Eugene Werderman, 43, of South Mills, and Willie Issac White, 63, of Elizabeth City, were each arrested on Friday, July 18, a Currituck Sheriff’s Office news release states. Their arrest followed a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 158 in Currituck County.

Last Friday, a Currituck deputy made a traffic stop of a Mitsubishi Galant for a traffic violation. The deputy requested a K9 unit to assist with the traffic stop. At the scene, K9 Brutus was deployed around the vehicle and he alerted to the odor of narcotics, the release states…
