Suffolk piloting possible solution to daycare crisis

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The city made famous by a legume is going nuts with growth and new jobs, and now, it has partnered to create new licensed family daycare homes.

Janet Days, the former commanding officer of Naval Station Norfolk is now at the helm of Economic Development in Suffolk and knows what it takes to keep a ship on course.

“I think it is so important as a parent to know that you have a safe place that you can take your child, and you don’t have to be concerned about their well-being, and so forth, when you go to work or you go off to school,” Days said. “But more importantly, they’re in a space where there’s learning, adaptive learning, and then also integrating with other youth.”…
