Police pursuit through downtown Suffolk ends in arrest; vehicle damaged

SUFFOLK, Va. — A man wanted on outstanding warrants is in custody after leading Suffolk police on a pursuit through the downtown area Tuesday evening.

According to police, the incident began around 7:02 p.m. on August 12 in the 1000 block of Portsmouth Boulevard when officers attempted to stop the suspect’s vehicle. Instead of pulling over, the driver fled, prompting a chase through city streets.

Authorities say the pursuit ended without injury, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. During the chase, police reported that the fleeing driver struck and damaged one other uninvolved vehicle…
