NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Traffic has resumed as normal after crews dealt with a car fire on Interstate 64 eastbound near the I-264 interchange late Thursday afternoon.
The fire began around 5:45 p.m., and black smoke from the fire blew in the air, slowing traffic in the area at the time before firefighters were able to put out the fire.
Drivers were delayed through the area at the time, with the east right center lane, right lane and right shoulder closed. All lanes have reopened, and the incident has been cleared.
Crews briefly closed off the exit to access I-264 near where the car is, according to VDOT cameras, but it reopened as of about 6:10 p.m…
