Hampton VA Medical Center receives extra funding for infrastructure upgrades

HAMPTON, Va. — Hundreds of millions of dollars will be allocated nationwide to aging Veterans Affairs medical facilities, and the Hampton VA will be receiving a piece of the pie.

While it’s unclear exactly the amount of funding the Hampton VA will receive, the Department of Veterans Affairs realigned a total of $800 million toward its Non-Recurring Maintenance program, which means a total of $2.8 billion will be spent in the program for fiscal year 2025.

Hampton VA Medical Center will renovate the ground floor of building 110, as well as all of building 135. The entire campus will receive walkway and lighting improvements, and building 27 will see additional historical preservation efforts…
