NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Driving on dunes is prohibited in Norfolk, but someone decided to do it anyway, as captured by a WAVY viewer in the photos below.
Norfolk Police confirmed they received a report about the vehicle around 6:50 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17. The caller said the SUV was stuck in the sand near 23rd Bay St., in the Ocean View neighborhood.
City of Norfolk park rangers responded to help remove the vehicle from the beach, police said.
