NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The cause and manner of death for Angelina Resendiz, the Naval sailor who was found dead June 9 after being reported missing May 29, has been reported as “undetermined” according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Another Naval sailor, Jermiah Copeland, is in pretrial confinement in connection to Resendiz’s death.

Resendiz was last seen around 10 a.m. after an E-7 assigned to the USS James E. Williams saw her while conducting a wellness check on another sailor assigned to the same ship.

According to a Navy memo, after four days of no contact from Resendiz they notified her mother, Esmeralda Castle. According to the memo, “Navy policy requires such a notification to next-of-kin on Day 5 of a Sailor’s absence.”…
