80th anniversary of World War II’s end honored aboard Battleship Wisconsin

NORFOLK, Va. — September 2nd marks a major milestone in world history: the 80th anniversary of the official end of World War II. In Norfolk, decorated military officials, city leaders, and other officials gathered on the Battleship Wisconsin to remember the sacrifices made and reflect on a message of peace.

Joseph Reynes, Major General Retired, and Executive Director at the General Douglas Arthur Foundation, spent the ceremony telling the story of the journey to the end of the war, and General MacArthur’s role in it.
