HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Students at Kecoughtan High School in Hampton had to be evacuated after a firearm and a suspicious package were found on campus Friday morning.
According to a letter sent to Kecoughtan families, during routine safety procedures, a firearm was found in a student’s possession. It was detected using a metal detector. Following this, security with the school confiscated the weapon and placed the student “under the supervision of law enforcement.”
Officials with the school said the student will face both disciplinary actions and appropriate charges…
