VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Jennifer Mulligan appeared in a Virginia Beach courtroom Tuesday for a preliminary hearing on charges of murdering her 90-year-old father, Woodward McClure, in May.
Bond denied for woman accused of killing elderly father in Virginia Beach
The fatal shooting occurred May 7 on Rodney Lane. The defense in this case said Mulligan had taken in her father after his nursing home in Texas closed.
Mulligan told authorities she was haunted by a history of abuse by her father, which started when she was a little girl. “I did what I had to do to take care of the agony,” she reportedly told a detective.
During the 911 call made by Mulligan herself, when asked by the dispatcher if the shooting was an accident or on purpose, Mulligan stated it was on purpose. This admission poses a challenge for her defense…
