Thousands without power after scattered outages in region

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — More than 7,000 Dominion Energy customers across Hampton Roads were without power at some point Tuesday evening amid scattered outages across the region.

There were about 2,300 Norfolk customers who were without power as of 9:30 pm., while there were roughly 1,300 customers without power in Portsmouth and more than 1,200 without power in Virginia Beach, according to Dominion’s outage map.

A WAVY viewer shared video from the area near Maryview Hospital Tuesday evening showing an outage there. The video showed a Dominion truck, along with Portsmouth fire and police vehicles, in the area.

There were about 2,000 Dominion customers without power in the Lambert’s Point area of Norfolk, and more than 600 customers were without power in an area along Sewells Point Road…
