VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The case of a Virginia Beach man who was seeking $500,000 in a lawsuit against the city’s police chief and dozens of its police officers over a “militarized raid” of his home has been dismissed.
In a lawsuit filed earlier this year, William Jennings said he was left “humiliated” after being subjected to an unlawful search, false arrest, and gross negligence by the Virginia Beach Police Department in an “unjustifiable show of force” that violated his Fourth Amendment rights and Virginia Law. Jennings named multiple officers in the complaint, including Police Chief Paul Neudigate.
A search warrant for Jennings’ home obtained on Sept. 6, 2024, was secured for “suspected drug activity, purportedly to seize drug paraphernalia, electronic devices, and documents related to alleged drug activity.”…
