Portsmouth honors 9/11 victims with solemn remembrance ceremony

At exactly 11 a.m. Wednesday, the city of Portsmouth paused to honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and to reflect on the enduring legacy of sacrifice, service and unity.

Local firefighters and police officers stood shoulder to shoulder at the remembrance ceremony, some wearing black mourning bands across their badges.
