Virginia Beach man sentenced to 25 years for sextortion of minors

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A Virginia Beach man received a 25-year prison sentence for the sextortion of two minors and soliciting an adult, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Justin Whichard, 24, chatted online with the two minor victims and fostered a sexual relationship with them. He threatened to reveal their identities to their families unless they produced child sexual abuse material for him, according to court documents.

Whichard then used the images of the minors in an attempt to extort an adult. He pretended to be the minors and threatened to reveal the adult’s identity and engagement unless he transferred money to him…
