Congregation cuts ribbon on 100-year-old church in Moyock

The congregation at Weeping Mary Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ in Moyock cut the ribbon on their new building earlier this month.

The congregation, which previously worshipped in a former school house near Bells Island Road, has existed more than 100 years. Ground work on the new building began in 2010 and construction continued over the next 14 years with the help of skilled volunteers and faithful donors. At the ribbon cutting, church members celebrated moving into the new sanctuary debt free.

The congregation initially entered the new church in November but held the ribbon cutting on Sunday, Sept. 7. The church is led by the Rev.
