Naval Safety Command announces highest number of motorcycle deaths since 2008

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — 2025 has now had the highest number of motorcycle-related fatalities across the Naval enterprise since 2008, according to a Facebook post by the Naval Safety Command on Sept. 25.

A total of 29 Sailors and 15 Marines have died due to motorcycle crashes in 2025. 18 to 26-year old male motorcyclists are considered the most at-risk. This news comes as Hampton Roads has recently seen multiple motorcycle crashes.
