Newport News Police are searching for a suspect in a burglary at Happy Smoke

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — The Newport News Police Department are searching for a suspect in a burglary that took place at Happy Smoke’s location in the city on Sept. 10.

According to Newport News Police, the suspect is believed to be a Black man, between 20 to 30 years old and roughly 6 feet tall. The burglary happened in the 800 block of Old Oyster Point Road at around 2:55 a.m. A burglary alarm alerted officers to the scene, who discovered the shop’s front door was shattered. Happy Smoke’s employees told officers the suspect is a repeat offender and used to shop there many times.
