Colonna’s Shipyard recognizes 2025 apprentice graduates

Colonna’s Shipyard Inc., Norfolk, Va., has recognized four graduates of its apprenticeship program in September. Graduates of Colonna’s Apprenticeship program are trained to embody the company’s values of respect, pride, truth, and family and have completed more than 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and 576 hours of related technical instruction.

Colonna’s Apprenticeship is a registered four-year program that combines classroom/college-level instruction with on-the-job training under the guidance of experienced educators, skilled tradespeople, and industry leaders. This opportunity allows emerging professionals to earn while they learn.

“These graduate apprentices are the future of not only Colonna’s Shipyard but our industry, and we couldn’t be prouder to see such talented individuals choosing — not just a job, but a career in ship repair,” Jordan Webb, Colonna’s president and general manager, said in a statement announcing the graduations. “It takes dedication, resilience, and hard work to master the skills of these demanding trades, and these apprentices have shown exactly that. Their commitment to learning and perfecting their craft will ensure the continued strength and reliability of Colonna’s for years to come. We’re proud to support their journey and excited to see what they’ll achieve.”…
