NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — With forecasts calling for potential tidal flooding this weekend, the city has been making preparations, and is making sure residents are prepared, also.
With possible heavy rain and potentially strong winds this weekend, the city is reminding folks to be aware of potential flood zones.
“Making sure that you know your flood risk in your area, making sure you’re informed of what time the high tide is going to be as we get closer to those tidal events, which may cause flooding across the city,” said Norfolk emergency management planner Ricky Matthews, “and making sure that you have a plan if your area is low-lying, knowing that you may need to move your car.”…
