CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — One person suffered smoke inhalation as a fire damaged a condo on Tracker Lane in the Western Branch area of Chesapeake Monday evening, the Chesapeake Fire Department said.
One adult and four children who live in the apartment have been displaced and have made lodging arrangements with family, while another person who was not a resident of the apartment was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
The fire was determined to be accidental, the Chesapeake Fire Department said.
At 8:16 p.m., Chesapeake firefighters were sent to the 2900 block of Tracker Lane for a report of a fire inside a condo, and when Chesapeake Engine 12 arrived seven minutes later, they reported smoke showing from the two-story condo and found an active kitchen fire, the Chesapeake Fire Department said.
