VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A 37-year-old man was sentenced to 24 years in prison Wednesday after a single-vehicle accident that resulted in the death of two people July 30, 2024, according to the Virginia Beach’s Office of the Commonwealth Attorney.
VBPD: Driver arrested after crash on Shipps Corner Road that killed two
Evidence from the Commonwealth revealed the driver, Adam Cieniewicz, was out with two friends, Shawn Babonis and Francisco Bisono IV, drinking alcoholic beverages for multiple hours at Mermaids Club on Potters Road.
Cieniewicz was driving his friends from Mermaids Club to Clubhouse Bar and lost control of the vehicle on Shipps Corner Road after accelerating to high speeds. The car then proceeded to hit some trees, in which the impact killed both of Cieniewicz’s passengers, according to the CA’s office.
The Commonwealth further states that Cieniewicz proceeded to walk barefoot to Clubhouse Bar, received a ride home, while never calling or requesting rescue for the passengers in his vehicle…
