Court Docs: Chesapeake man shot neighbor’s dog

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A Chesapeake horse stable operator is facing multiple charges after police say he shot and killed a neighbor’s dog earlier this month, according to court documents.

The criminal complaint states officers were called around 6:20 p.m. Nov. 9 to Centerville Turnpike South for a report of an animal that had been killed. An animal control officer wrote in a criminal complaint that the dog, described as a 30-to-35-pound mixed breed, had been shot in the chest, with an exit wound to the back of the stomach indicating it may have been shot head-on.
