Investigators try to solve mystery of 1983 remains found in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — On Nov. 19, 1983, hunters found themselves walking through a wooded area off of Happy Acres Road when they came across skeletal human remains.

The Virginia Department of Health reports the man may have been there up to four years before he was found. The agency also documented that one or both hands were never recovered.

A crime line bulletin from 1984 states the body was found in broad daylight around 1 p.m, lying under a tree…
