NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Newport News police have taken a teenager into custody after a 13-year-old was shot around 1 a.m. on Monday morning.
Newport News police said they were first called to the 19th Street area after their gunshot detection system alerted them of possible shots fired around 12:45 a.m.
They arrived at the scene to find a 13-year-old boy suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition, police said…
