NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Some residents in the Calvert Square neighborhood have been without heat since Thursday evening, the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority confirmed.
Temperatures overnight in Norfolk dropped to the mid-to-upper-30s and have not gotten much above 40 Friday as rain has been falling over the city. The housing authority said Friday the cause of the heat outage “is related to a trench leak that interrupted the flow of hot water to the radiators.”
Housing authority staff have been in Calvert Square Friday to identify people who have been directly impacted, and affected residents, it said, have been given portable heaters to use temporarily in their apartments…
