NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A man is dead after he was shot on Jefferson Avenue in Newport News Tuesday night, police said.
Newport News Police said officers were sent to the 11700th block of Jefferson Avenue at 6:23 p.m. in reference to a shooting. When they arrived, they found a man outside suffering from at least one gunshot wound, according to police.
The man was taken to a local hospital, where he died at 6:54 p.m., police said.
Detectives are canvassing the area of the shooting on Jefferson Avenue and NNPD forensics is also at the scene. Police said they have no suspect information at this time…
